Now celebrating our 25th anniversary, Ground Support is in need of an enthusiastic, professional (read: ORGANIZED) SALESMAN / ACCOUNTS MANAGER.
You could start either as a PART TIME OR FULL TIME commission-based contractor (1099) and are free to WORK FROM A LOCATION OF YOUR OWN CHOOSING. If you start as part time, you could work shortly into a full-time position - as soon as your sales make it possible for you to do so. Also, this position could possibly work into full (W2) employment at some time in the future.
This is NOT a high-volume sales position - it is low volume / relatively high-dollar. Typically, you would be in contact with only several people a day (not dozens), and keep track of detailed customer information & their specific requirements. EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS are a MUST: Phone and eMail, including use of a spell-checker and lead/status tracking/reporting (spreadsheet and/or lead management software).
This position is very flexible - from as little as a part-time salesman, up through marketing and business development, including the possibility of a future stake in ownership of the business.
As such, YOUR INCOME and OPPORTUNITY is virtually unlimited, as we are now working towards a 'quantum leap' in several areas of sales, new products and business development.
- Pay will be via generous commissions, half of which is typically paid 'up front' (within 2 days of taking an order), and the balance when the customer pays their balance (typically within 15-30 days).
- You will also be eligible for our PROFIT-SHARING plan after 90 days.

This is the perfect position for someone who is a detail-oriented self-starter (personable engineers are welcome to apply) who can work productively with minimal supervision helping practical people (CNC programmers) solve their CNC program translation challenges in a mid-tech, low-pressure sales environment. The software almost ‘sells itself,’ but you must be able to (with our training) discuss/determine customers' needs, answer the most common questions that arise, then match their needs with the various versions of software and services that we offer, and prepare quotes accordingly. **

DUTIES will include sales and marketing tasks & development (including weekly reporting/brainstorming with your supervisor) in any/all of these areas:
#1 (IMMEDIATELY) - DIRECT sales (no cold-calling): You will be responsible for pre-sale tasks, which would typically be following up on customer inquiries, assessing their needs, answering most (including semi-technical) questions (you will be completely and immediately supported by tech staff re any 'deeper' tech questions), then providing matching product information, pricing, estimates and formal quotes. You will also keep track of your potential customers’ pre-sale status, ‘call-back’ dates and follow up accordingly.
#2 (Ongoing) - Developing & maintaining REFERRAL RELATIONSHIPS with machine tool and CAD/CAM dealers (who are a continual source of qualified leads) as their customers are also continually in need of our products and services.
#3 (Ongoing / RESIDUAL INCOME) - OEM customer signups: We currently have contracts with several major CAD/CAM and machine tool companies, who include OEM versions of our software as part of their own systems. (OEMs pay us ongoing monthly royalty/licensing fees.) With each (CAM or machinery) company that you nurture (with our help) to OEM status, YOUR MONTHLY INCOME INCREASES with very little ongoing time investment on your part.

An additional opportunity (for the candidate that also has CAM, NC or computer programming experience) would be to also (in addition to some of the sales work described above) do TECHNICAL WORK for us as well (postprocessor configuration, support and possibly software development), for an additional hourly wage (plus profit sharing, when eligible).

** "What we offer"
(a.k.a. "What is a postprocessor?")
Our main product is the PostHASTE (CAM-to-CNC) postprocessor. Here are several explanations (in increasing detail) of what a postprocessor (and specifically PostHASTE) is and/or does:
1 - In a nutshell, a postprocessor ('post') is software that could be described as essentially a 'glorified printer driver' - but instead of translating printing data from your PC to a printer, it translates specific machining information from a CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) system into a properly-formatted program to drive a specific CNC (programmable / robotic) metal or material cutting machine.
2 - Since there is such a wide variety in the types, manufacturers and uses of CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) machines, there is a wide range in the specific programming styles used to drive all these various machines. A postprocessor is the software that translates 'generic' toolpath (or 'CL' *** ) data from a CAM system (to machine a part or mold, for example) to match the specifically-formatted program language that a particular metal-cutting machine (lathe, mill, router, laser, waterjet, etc.) requires to accurately perform the machining.
3 - PostHASTE is the world's easiest-to-configure - and, in actual practice, the world's ONLY truly user-configurable postprocessor system that we (GS) developed to enable CAM users or dealers to quickly and easily create and/or edit (configure) their own posts.
Post editing (configuration) is typically needed either when (1) a new machine (or type of machining) is added to a shop that has an existing CAM system, or (2) when a new CAM system is purchased, and must be configured to drive a shop's existing machine(s).
In addition to the PostHASTE software, we also offer post formatting services for those who just have too much on their plate and would prefer to hire us to do the initial formatting work.

*** 'CL' = 'Cutter Location' or 'Center Line' - depending on who you ask. ;-) In any case, 'CL data' or 'CL file' is an industry-standard term describing the generic toolpath data output by CAM systems that eventually gets translated into the finished NC program (also called 'NC code' or 'G code') by the postprocessor.
